About Us

History of the band coming together!!!

Having been singing all my life, I can remember being 8 years old, cleaning my room, singing to a Carly Simon record. Seeing myself as that local church girl that started singing in front of people in church just like Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and how few other famous singers started. Singing in my younger years was always just for fun and a little intimidating. The songs started coming to me when I found myself alone working on various ranches. “Why’d it have to be” “Where I want to be” and “That Cowboy” had been formed in my head and I became eager to find someone help bring them to life and record a demo.
Through a few acquaintances I met Sandy Padilla, a singer-songwriter. I took some voice lessons and we started writing songs together. She encouraged me to sing my own songs but at this point I just wanted to be a writer. The venture of writing songs from Placerville with no outlet I found myself wanting to perform. My new vocal coach really helped me develop into the “story of the song” which took a hold of my passion and was able to forget my fear of “hitting the note.” I entered a whole new level in my singing-songwriting career. She helped me prepare for a singing competition and although that didn’t lead to anywhere it’s where I realized I could get up and sing my songs.
About this time, my husbands Aunt Sandy, an artist and writer, and I were sharing our art like minds. She said her husband Randall was a great guitar player and had wrote some songs he wanted words too. So we got together and wrote a few songs and said we should make something of this. Jaime, the studio owner of where we were making the music, had some other guys interested in writing songs.
We had one gig, a fundraiser for Horses, Hope and Healing in May 2009. It was October 2008. We had no other strings attached just let’s see if we mesh together and if this is something that will work. Jamie, who has been in many bands, lead the focus that “you don’t just say let’s make a band you call it a project. Then it’s not such a commitment and what should come of it, would form off of that. Well whatever we let happen, we came together we put in all this practice I started loving being on stage and pushed to do more concerts.
After the fundraiser concert, which was the “project” we had formed. We had other gigs scheduled. We were able to bring Becky aboard, which has been nothing but a great fit for the band. So in 2009 and 8 shows later I’d call us an official band that has great plans for more shows and making a CD for our fans this 2010.
